Adding just a little detail to the dollar cars goes along way

 The dollar cars like Hot Wheels and Matchbox lack detail like chrome srrips, tail lights,  head lights, and blacked out grills when needed. A little water based craft paint works best and is eazy to wipe off areas you may have got a little sloppy. A tooth pick works great for applicators...

Hot Wheels 66 Batmobile
This Hot Wheels 1966 Batmobile was the best released to date in 1/64 scale. It lacked much detail. I finished the red pinstripe on the front, hood, and rear. Painted some chrome trim around the bubble windshield front and rear. Red on the flashing light with the chrome trim, yellow on the head lights, and painted the center of the windshield gloss black. 
 

 I did a complete strip and repaint on this HW 65 Mustang Fastback about 1 month before HW released their version of the white with blue stripes. I added much more detail.


Added to the Mustang on the left is chrome silver to the head lights, grill trim, hood pins, bumper, spokes on the FTE wheels,  and the side pipes. This car was a complete repaint before HW released this white version. I also continued the blue stripes all the way below the bumpers.


Added on the rear is chrome silver to the rear bumper and gas cap. Red to the tail lights.
