Here's the ride that put Rudolph, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Donnor, Vixen and the rest of the gang in the unemployment line.
Back in early 2002, I had an idea of a new design for Santa to make his overnight trip in half the time !

In the beginning.
After about a year of digging in drawers around the house, in my scrap box of spare diecast car parts, and around the garage for anything I could use to put this project together, it finally came to a completion date of January 14, 2003

From a block and sheet of plastic !
After several hours of carving and sanding, the body was beginning to take shape !

Lookin' good !
A few months had passed and I began work again. It took awhile to figure a traction set up to get Santa through the snow. I came up with this idea !

Takin' Shape !
After many moons of placing parts and changing designs, I came up with this basic design !

Almost ready !
After designing a front ski set up for the steering, I put the paint to it. The color was pretty easy to decide on. A few months later Santa stopped by for a test drive ! A little collection was taken for a little extra gas money !

Test drive a success !
The test drive went well. Santa was very pleased. The nitrous system should cut his delivery time almost in half !

Back to the shop !
The new sleigh was taken back to the shop for some detailing and some minor adjustments. The whole crew worked night and day !
|
A few minor changes !
A good tune up with new green ignition wires, a new chrome air scoop with a new injection system, Santa should be able to increase his speed as well as his gas mileage !

Almost ready to fly !
Sleigh runs extremely well. It will turn 8:75 in the quarter mile. It still seems to have a small problem with the gas mileage though !
